Strengths & Weaknesses Often careless in battle, putting himself in harms way during battles. While this is a weakness, it is also his strength as it inspires those under him to fight with spirit.
Ambitions Having had a long illustrious career with Starfleet and the Federation, Wheeler has lived up to many of his ambitions. Now he finds himself an old soldier, and the galaxy in jeopardy. He will do whatever it takes to save Earth, the Federation, and his people.
Hobbies & Interests Wheeler has an interest in 19th Century Earth History, especially the history of Cavalry troops. He also has an interest in American Constitutional Law. As a Senator he spoke highly of State Rights, as well as the Sovereignty of Countries, Planets, and more. He often spoke of the Federation as being too large, and worked to limit the powers of the Federation’s government.

Personal History Jonathan Wheeler was born on September 10th, 2327 near Macon, Georgia. His parents soon moved to Memphis, Tennessee where Jonathan wound spend his childhood. He moved around the school systems, mainly receiving his education in private schools. At the age of 17, he petitioned and was accepted into Starfleet Academy.

Upon his graduation in 2347 he was assigned to the USS Intrepid NCC-38907 as a Tactical Officer with the rank of Ensign. His first five year mission proved almost uneventful, full of diplomatic missions and explorations. Though earning a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade in 2351, he requested and received a transfer to the USS Hood NCC-42296 as its Tactical Officer.

The USS Hood proved more exciting to Jonathan, but failed to live up to expectations. Wheeler still wanted more excitement. He again requested and received a transfer, this time to the USS Galaxy NX-70637, an experimental Galaxy Class Starship. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned as Tactical Officer.

The USS Galaxy proved exciting. Its missions more tested the limits of its new technology, and in all areas. He was able to prove himself worthy in many small engagements with hostile forces, even if they were smaller. He chose to remain with the USS Galaxy and in 2362 was promoted to Assistant Chief Tactical Officer. In 2366 he is promoted to Chief Tactical Officer with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

While serving on the USS Galaxy, Vice Admiral Strickler notices him and quickly sees potential. He names Wheeler as Aide-de-Camp, and transfers him to Starfleet Headquarters on Earth. It is here that Wheeler falls in love with, and marries Daniella Rackley. Soon afterwards, their first daughter Lucy is born. In 2371 Jonathan Wheeler junior is born, and in 2372, Thomas Wheeler is born.

In 2371 Wheeler is temporarily assigned to the USS Lakota 42768 as Executive Officer during Admiral Leyton’s attempted coup of the Federation. Wheeler is returned to Admiral Strickler’s staff after Admiral Leyton is arrested.

In 2373 Wheeler began feeling restless in a Staff position. He requests and receives a transfer back to the USS Galaxy, serving as its Chief Tactical Officer. At the start of the Dominion War in 2374, Wheeler is brevetted a Commander and is named Executive Officer of the USS Galaxy in response to efforts to shift command officers to the newly re-commissioned ships called upon to serve in the War. He takes part of the Second Battle of Chin’toka in which he assumes command when the Captain is wounded. In 2375 he is brevetted a Captain and Commanding Officer of the USS Galaxy. Takes part of the Battle of Cardassia, suffering heavy losses and damage on the Galaxy. In 2376 is brevets expire, reducing him back to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He reassumes his role as Chief Tactical Officer.

In 2377 he is arrested and charged with striking a superior officer. Jonathan Wheeler claimed he only acted in self-defense, but a Court Marshal found him guilty. He was demoted to the rank of Lieutenant, and held in confinement for two months. When he is released, he returns to his post as Chief Tactical Officer.

In 2379 the USS Galaxy is assigned to the Battle Group Omega and stands by to assist the USS Enterprise during the Reman attack. Soon after, Wheeler announces his retirement from Starfleet. He retires with the rank of Lieutenant.

In 2383 he is elected as Senator of the State of Alabama. He holds the office until 2385 when he is appointed Ambassador to Andora. He ran for the Federation Council in 2386 but lost to the incumbent. In 2387 while reading in his library on Andora, he hears the news of the destruction of Romulus. He immediately resigns as Ambassador and is commissioned as a Lieutenant in Starfleet. He is quickly promoted to Commander, and placed in command of the USS Excalibur.
